The Process
Water, Not Fire
Aquamation® is an eco-friendly alternative to flame cremation and burial. This gentle, water-based process returns a body back to nature in a respectful and environmentally responsible way.
Scientifically known as Alkaline Hydrolysis, Aquamation® uses water, alkalinity, and temperature to replicate and accelerate the natural process that occurs when a body is laid to rest in the soil — all within a controlled, dignified environment.

A Water-Based Process
Aquamation® combines warm, gentle water flow, alkalinity, and temperature to accelerate the natural decomposition process. This carefully controlled system mirrors how nature breaks down organic matter over time, allowing the body’s biological tissues to be reduced in a peaceful, respectful way.
The result is a process that is:
-
Gentle
-
Clean
-
Environmentally responsible

Individual Care, Every Step of the Way
During the patented Aquamation® process, each pet is respectfully placed in its own individual compartment within a stainless-steel vessel. This ensures every pet is cared for separately, with dignity and respect.
A combination of water flow, temperature, and alkalinity gently accelerates the natural hydrolysis process, reducing all organic material to its most basic elements.

Returning Safely to the Ecosystem
As the process completes, the remaining sterile water consists of natural byproducts such as amino acids, sugars, nutrients, salts, and soap — all elements created through natural decomposition.
This sterile water is safely returned to the ecosystem for recycling or directed to a public wastewater treatment facility.

Honoring the Life You Shared
At the conclusion of the aquamation process, only the inorganic bone material remains. This material contains no DNA or RNA.
The remains are carefully processed into a fine powder, which is then respectfully returned to the family — allowing you to honor and remember your pet in a meaningful way.
